VA employees may receive CEU credit through the talent management system (TMS) by pre-registering using, attending and completing the evaluation posted in TMS using the link above.

When a participant clicks on the TMS Registration Link, they will be taken to the TMS Login page. After logging in they will see the Item Detail page for the item that they wish to register.  On the right side of the page there are 3 buttons: “Add to Learning Plan”, “Start Course” and “Register Now”. All they need to do is click on the “Register Now” button. (They should not click on “Add to Learning Plan”. This will add the training to their To-Do List, but it does not register them for the training.)

After clicking on the “Register Now” button a list of the dates, time and locations for the scheduled offering will appear. They can choose the one that works best for them by clicking on the “Register Now” button to the right of that offering. On the next page they click on the “Confirm” button on the upper right side of the page. This will add the training to their To-Do List and they will receive an email confirmation from TMS.

Program Description:
The purpose of this program is to provide participants with an approach to discussing goals of care in developing a person-centered plan of care.  This approach will outline how a clinician can take into account personal wishes/beliefs, medical comorbidities, and prognostication in establishing overarching goals of care in an empathic and collaborative manner. The interest in palliative care allows clinicians to focus on honoring patient wishes, managing burdensome symptoms, and taking steps to alleviate suffering and to minimize unnecessary or harmful medical interventions for seriously and/or chronically ill older adult veterans.
