Recently the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced a proposal that, beginning January 1st, 2016, they will reimburse doctors for having end-of-life discussions with their patients.

Patients will be able to receive appropriate information through advanced care planning discussions. And soon providers will be reimbursed for having these important conversations.

For more information about this announcement, see an article in the Washington Post and proposed changes to the 2016 Medicare physician fee schedule in the Federal Register.
