Rural Interdisciplinary Team Training (RITT) is an all-day (8am - 4:30pm) program that is geared toward rural VA healthcare providers and staff. The program is focused on enhancing knowledge of geriatric conditions with an emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork.

A clinician specializing in geriatrics and an educator trainer will come to your VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) to deliver a presentation, which includes videos, demonstrations of cognitive assessment tools, and development of a mini project for your clinic to carry out based on the material covered and the specific needs of your CBOC. The trainers will bring a variety of resources that are yours to keep - including reference books, DVDs, and pocket guides. RITT trainings are open to VA employees only and participants include medical and allied health professionals from VA facilities that primarily serve rural Veterans. RITT is accredited by the VA Employee Education System (EES) and TRAIN for 6.5 Continuing Education Credits for the fields of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology and Social Work.

The RITT program team is currently scheduling training opportunities in 2017. If you are interested in hosting a training at your CBOC or would like more information about the RITT program, please contact:
