White House proclaimed November “National Veterans and Militaries Families Month”
Visit the VA website for a full calendar of events:
“Veterans Day has a special place in the lives not only of our Veterans, but for all citizens as we pay tribute to the service of those past and present who have contributed so much to our nation’s history,” said VA Secretary David Shulkin. “President Trump has proclaimed, for the first time, that November is Veterans and Military Families Month and we are seeing nationwide events that will showcase Veterans.”
"The nation will say “thank you for your service” to its military veterans this week...Many rely on family members or friends as informal caregivers. These caregivers make it possible for wounded veterans to remain at home rather than in-care facilities, helping with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, physical therapy, meal preparation and medication."
Support a Caregiver! The VA caregiver support program offers many important resources to caregivers.
